European Championships Management is carrying out a series of National Federation Workshops across Europe in May and June, promoting the multi-sport European Championships in several countries ahead of the second edition of the event in Munich in August.

For the European Championships Munich 2022, Olympiahalle will be home to the stars and starlets of the gymnastics scene. A good two months before the start of competition, it welcomed the secret stars of the event. Around 2,500 volunteers followed the invitation to their official kick-off on 4 June, and thousands more tuned in via livestream.

In the women's 800m, beating the magical two-minute mark is not only an accolade but also an absolute necessity for international success. In the past, such a time was deemed completely unrealistic. But in 1971, Hildegard Falck-Kimmich became the first woman to undercut that mark when she crossed the finish line in Stuttgart in 1:58.5 minutes. The following year she became Olympic champion in her own country.

The excitement and anticipation are rising: In just over two months, the European Championships Munich 2022 will begin, with 177 decisions for European gold, silver and bronze. The large number of thrilling competitions is also reflected in the increasing ticket sales. The organisers are already reporting the first sold-out medal decisions.

Vanessa Ferrari has been a constant in European gymnastics for almost two decades. The Italian gymnast became the world all-around champion in 2006, and has since won four European championship titles, crowning her career with silver on floor at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The second instalment of the International Federation of Sport Climbing’s World Cup series took place in the South Korean capital Seoul. And with that, for the first time since October 2019, a World Cup was held on Asian soil again. 210 athletes arrived to secure important rankings in speed and boulder.
