Laugher (GBR) aims for second gold but Russians await

British diving star Jack Laugher aims for his second gold medal on day four of the Diving competition at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. The Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist is the favourite in the men's 3m springboard, but he will face London 2012 Olympic and 2017 European Champion Ilia Zakharov (RUS) and 2016 European Champion Evgenii Kuznetsov (RUS).
Russia's 2017 world silver medallists Aleksandr Bondar/Viktor Minibaev are the pair to beat in the men's 10m synchronised platform.
Kirt (EST) out to spoil German javelin party

Day four of Athletics brings one of the Championships’ marquee events to Berlin Olympic Stadium where Germany's heralded javelin trio of Thomas Rohler, Johannes Vetter and Andreas Hoffman are aiming to sweep the podium in front of their home crowd. Estonia's in-form Magnus Kirt is the man most likely to spoil the hosts’ party.

Ekaterini Stefanidi (GRE) defends her women’s pole vault crown while on the track Norway's World Champion Karsten Warholm bids for the first of two one-lap titles in the 400m hurdles. Turkey’s Ramil Guliyev (TUR) looks to unseat defending Champion Bruno Hortelano (ESP) in the men’s 200m. Germany hope for more medal success in the women’s 100m hurdles through reigning champion Cindy Roleder and world bronze medallist Pamela Dutkiewicz.
Queen Learmonth (GBR) defends European crown against 2012 Olympic Champion

The women's elite triathletes kick off the action at Strathclyde Country Park on Thursday, with Jessica Learmonth (GBR) hoping to delight the home crowd by retaining her European title. She will face tough opposition from London 2012 Olympic Champion Nicola Spirig (SUI) while running specialist Cassandre Beaugrand (FRA) will hope to stay in touch until the last leg.
Dutch Olympic Champions out to prove their class in 10km races
Open water swimming from 09:30
The 10km is regarded as open water swimming's blue riband event because it is also on the roster at the Olympics, where it is known as marathon swimming. Both Champions from Rio 2016 are in action on the second day of competition at Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Dutchman Ferry Weertman is aiming for his third successive European title while compatriot Sharon Van Rouwendaal, who won the 5km on Wednesday, is hoping to make amends for a wrong turn at the last European Championships which cost her a 10km medal.
Whitlock, Petrounias and Zonderland among the big names in men's gymnastics

Russia's men will begin their defence of the team title in at The SSE Hydro Arena on Thursday, when qualification doubles-up as preliminaries for individual apparatus finals.
Watch out for double Olympic Champion Max Whitlock (GBR) on floor and pommel horse, the two events he won at Rio 2016. Rings master Eleftherios Petrounias (GRE) will be in action in the morning, followed in the afternoon by Epke Zonderland (NED) - otherwise known as the flying Dutchman for his epic horizontal bar routine.
Swimming concludes as multi-medallists return to the pool

The swimming action concludes with nine gold medals up for grabs at Tollcross International Swimming Centre. Already multiple gold medal winners in Glasgow, Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom (50m butterfly) and Russia's Yuliya Efimova (50m breaststroke) are both in action, as is Ben Proud (GBR), the fastest man in the world in the 50m freestyle this year.
It's France v France in potential Group B women's decider

The all-France showdown between number two pairing Celine Herbin and Astrid Vayson De Pradenne and number twos Justine Dreher and Manon Molle should be the decisive match in Group B of the women’s team event at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course after both won their opening matches. In the men's tournament, Britain's much-fancied pairing of Callum Shinkwin and Lee Slattery need an improved performance to qualify for the knockout stages. They could only halve their opening Group A match and need victory over Sweden’s Per Langfors and Johan Edfors.
