The Europe Triathlon Age Group Sprint Championships will be integrated into the European Triathlon Championships Munich 2022 - themselves part of the multi-sport European Championships in the German city next year - as announced Thursday 13 August by Europe Triathlon, the German Triathlon Union (DTU) and the Munich 2022 organising committee.

One year before the start of the European Championships Munich 2022, the two elite athletes whetted the appetite for the biggest multi-sport event in Germany since the 1972 Olympic Games. The European Championships 2022 Board has ratified the sports programme and daily competition schedule for the second edition of the multi-sport event taking place in Munich.

Road Cycling routes for European Championships Munich 2022 have been announced. The women's race starts in Landsberg, the men's in Murnau. Both races will connect the two tourist attractions, city centre and surroundings, leading through the foothills of the Alps to the finish line at Odeonsplatz. The time trial events will be held in Fürstenfeldbruck.

Around 14,500 events have taken place in the Munich Olympic Park since 1972. This makes Munich's landmark an event location and meeting point with a glorious past, a vibrant present and a bright future. From 11-21 August 2022, the park will once again be in the spotlight: By hosting the European Championships Munich 2022, Munich will welcome the biggest sporting event since the 1972 Summer Olympics.

8 February 2021 was a milestone in the run-up to the European Championships Munich 2022. Munich's Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter and Marion Schöne, Managing Director of Olympiapark München GmbH, hosted the first meeting of the Honorary Board.
