UEC President Della Casa praises successful European Championships Munich 2022
European Cycling Union President Enrico Della Casa has hailed the multi-sport European Championships Munich 2022 as a great success that gave his participating federation the chance to learn from other sports.
“The multi-sport European Championships have been a great success,’’ said UEC President Della Casa.
“We had a very good BMX freestyle competition, and also six great days on the track.
“We had beautiful races on the road – the time trial had a very nice podium – and all the best in the world were present.
“Across the 11 days of competitions, we are very happy.
“We are really proud to be here, and, as we go back to our countries, we will remember Munich as one of the best events in cycling that we have had in our little history of UEC.”
“We had very good feedback in 2018 after Glasgow, and now I'm sure that we will see a huge and positive feedback from Germany and the whole of Europe.
“All the teams were very happy as they were able to say to their people back home: watch cycling on the TV.
“One of the major benefits from this concept is that we have the opportunity to meet all the sports and to learn from them.
“Some of them have good ideas in terms of communications, and some of them have a better idea in terms of technology.
“We have the possibility to learn from the other sports and the other sports can learn from us as well”
