Great Britain's Olympic Champion Jack Laugher begins his 2018 European Championships campaign in the men's 1m springboard at the Royal Commonwealth Pool on Tuesday.

Laugher, who proved his form at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year by winning three gold medals, is the favourite but needs to watch out for "old hand" Patrick Hausding (GER), who has 14 European titles to his name, world bronze medallist Giovanni Tocci (ITA) and Oleg Kolodiy (UKR).

The Ukranian won the gold medal in the mixed team event on Monday.

"It sets us up very well for our other events coming up," said Kolodiy. "We'll try to keep it up."

The women also compete in the 10m platform synchronised event.

That event looks quite open, with Ekaterina Beliaeva/Iuliia Timoshinina (RUS), Eden Cheng/Lois Toulson (GBR) and 2017 European bronze medallists Valeriia Liulko/Sofiia Lyskun (UKR) in contention.

Lyskun, Maria Kurjo (GER) and Timoshinina are aiming for their second medal of the Championships, after taking gold, silver and bronze respectively in the mixed team event on Monday. "It is encouraging, because you know you can win and this pushes you to try and do even better." said Lyskun.
