Europe's Biggest Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe Stars Expected to Start in Munich

In two weeks Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe will make a debut at the multisport European Championships Munich 2022. Numerous Olympic, World and European Champions are expected to take part in the competition in the Munich Olympic Regatta Centre.

The World’s best Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe athletes are now in Halifax, Canada, where this year’s World Championships start on Wednesday. Form will be at its peak also at the European Championships in Munich where majority of the athletes will then fight for the titles of best Canoe Sprinters in the Old Continent. Around 600 attendees from 37 European countries will enjoy the Munich 2022 atmosphere.

The upcoming European Championships will be one of the best attended so far and the biggest canoeing stars will come to Germany to take part in the first ever Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships within the multi-sport competition.

Germany will be among the strongest nations on the start line of the competition and they wish to perform well in front of their home crowd. Sebastian Brendel, Tim Hecker, Max Lemke, Tom Liebscher, Max Rendschmidt, Jacob Schopf, Conrad Scheibner, Sabrina Hering – Pradler are just a few names of the top German athletes who are on the list of participants of the upcoming Europeans.

Germany is usually fighting for the top place in the overall medal standings with Hungary and the home championships and support of the German fans will be much needed in Munich Olympic Regatta centre.

The task of winning medals will not be an easy one as European nations will come to Bavaria with their biggest stars and strongest teams. Hungary will be the main German rival and they plan to bring their Tokyo Olympic medallists Balint Kopasz, Sandor Totka, Adam Varga and Tamara Csipes to Munich to win more medals for Hungary.

They will not be the only current Olympic medalists in Munich. Most of the Tokyo Olympic medalists will be present in Munich and fighting for the new medals. Emma Aastrand Jorgensen from Denmark, Italian Manfredi Rizza, Polish kayakers Karolina Naja, Anna Pulawska, Justyna Iskrzycka, Ukraine’s hopefuls Liudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Chetverikova, Czechs Josef Dostal and Radek Šlouf, Spain’s Teresa Portela, Saul Craviotto, Rodrigo Germade, Marcus Cooper Walz, Carlos Arevalo, Portugal’s Fernando Pimenta and many others promise un unforgettable events.

We are very happy that we will also see the best European paracanoe athletes competing in Munich. Tokyo Paralympic medalists Peter Pal Kiss, Remy Boulle, Mykola Syniuk, Federico Mancarella, Serhii Yemelianov, Robert Oliver, Norberto Mourao, Edina Mueller, Maryna Mazhula, Charlotte Henshaw, Emma Wiggs, Katalin Varga, Laura Sugar, Nelia Barbosa, Felicia Laberer and Jeanette Chippington are all in the participants list of the Munich 2022 European Championships.
